Barrel Threading

Barrel Threading

Most all barrel threading is completed "through the headstock", supported at both ends, with the barrel indicated concentric to the bore.   This provides both threads and a shoulder that are suitable for use with a suppressor.   The only exception to this is when the barrel is so short that is requires a special fixture.   The barrel is still indicated concentric to the bore, it is just supported differently.   Inch pattern, 60 deg threads are only being cut currently.   Unless otherwise specified all threads will be cut to 2b specifications.   This service includes shortening and/or recrowning with either a recessed 11 deg. crown or a plain 11 deg. target crown.   The machined portion will not be refinished.   This service is available by appointment only for drop off and pick up. Please contact me ahead of time to schedule an appointment and for directions.

Please Note:

  • I will not add threads to a barrel that will violate WA state "assault weapon laws".
  • This does not include and firearm disassembly or reassembly ($25.00 min)
  • All NFA devices must be accompanied with an approved form 1 or 4 (for individuals) or a form 2 or 3 (for licensees).
  • PLEASE READ

I do my best to insure that there is no damage caused to surface finishes.  However it is not always possible.  I use either brass or copper padded screws and shims to make contact with barrel while it being machined.  That contact point will often leave a brass or copper mark.   This can normally be removed with with a copper bore solvent.  That being said, spray on finishes may be damaged where they are contacted.   You accept this risk by having me preform any work on your firearm.
